The GIF is located in 111 Mulford Hall, on the west side of the UC Berkeley campus, near the West Gate entrance at the intersection of University Ave. and Oxford Ave.
By BART
UC Berkeley is 1 block from the Downtown Berkeley Station.
From the station, walk east on Addison or Center St. until you reach Oxford Street. Enter the West Circle entrance of campus — Mulford Hall will be to the left of the West Gate Kiosk.
By Bus
AC Transit provides service throughout Alameda and Western Contra Costa counties. Several lines serve the UC Berkeley campus area, including lines 65, 52, 51, 43, 40, 15, 9, F, and U.
By Bike
The City of Berkeley has a network of 50 bicycle-friendly roadways. Bike lock areas are located on the east side of Mulford Hall.
By Car
From Hwy 101 North (San Francisco/Daly City):
Follow 101 North → I-80 East (Bay Bridge) → I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento) → exit University Avenue → continue east ~1.5 miles to Oxford Street.
From Highway 24:
Exit Telegraph Ave. → continue to Bancroft Way → left on Bancroft → right on Oxford Street.
From Westbound Hwy 13:
Hwy 13 becomes Tunnel Road → becomes Ashby Avenue near the Claremont Hotel → right on College Ave. → left on Bancroft Way → right on Oxford Street.
From I-80 East or West:
Exit University Avenue → continue east ~1.5 miles to Oxford Street.
From Northbound I-880:
Take I-80 East ramp (Sacramento) → exit University Avenue → continue east ~1.5 miles to Oxford Street.
Parking
Metered parking is available off campus on Oxford Street (25¢/20 min) and in a parking structure on Addison St.
Note: Campus parking is enforced 24 hours/7 days a week. Do not park in permit-only spots without a valid permit.
By Air
Oakland International Airport (OAK) — ~15 miles
Take AirBART Shuttle to Oakland Coliseum BART station, then Richmond-bound BART to Downtown Berkeley.
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) — ~25 miles
Take BART (Dublin/Pleasanton line) → transfer at Balboa Park → Pittsburgh/Bay Point train → transfer at 12th St/Oakland → Richmond train to Downtown Berkeley.
Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) — ~45 miles
